Meet the Author

Alexandra Kettles
What me, an author?
I never thought in a million years that I could immerse myself in such adventure! I wrote a few good poems in junior school, and a short story in secondary school that my sister raved about, but other than that…… I did go on to study Literature as part of my degree. Who would have known what was going to eventuate. Do let me know what you think of Charlotte & Tom’s adventures!
Alexandra Kettles was born in Bradford-on-Avon, a small village on the outskirts of Bath, England. She now lives in East Sussex.
Having travelled extensively, Alexandra eventually settled in Africa where she founded an affiliated Cambridge centre for secondary learners. She ran it for seventeen years before retiring.
After retiring from education, she rekindled her interest in writing, and as an avid animal and nature lover Alexandra has managed to capture travel, nature and education with family fundamentals, kindness and care in these wonderful contemporary books for young readers.

Meet the Illustrator

Stephen Hoffe
Stephen Hoffe is an Architect and Illustrator working out of Johannesburg whose main focus lies in community development work and travel sketching.
His time is equally spent between this and rock climbing where he is both a coach and guide.
Out of the Woodland is the first children’s book to be added to his portfolio.

Meet the G00bies!

My daughter of 5 years loves the illustrations. It teaches values of friendship, sibling companionship and responsibility in young kids. Personally, my favourite part is the one related to biology and perusing curiosity in nature. Love it!
Patricia B, United States
A wonderfully thought through children’s book which will cause any child to sit on their seat as the story unfolds. The fun, beautifully drawn illustrations bring the story alive so that you feel all the emotions the children go through during their experience in the woodland.
Lynne L, United Kingdom
This book keeps one in suspense and wondering what the "G00bies" next move will be. And when these funny little critters have found their way on board an aircraft, my imagination went into overdrive as to their next plan of escape. I cannot wait for the sequel to this story.
Claire M, United Kingdom
I bought "Out the Woodland" for my great niece but first read it myself and then lent it to my neighbour's 8-year old daughter. We both really enjoyed it! Lots of action, things going on so I can't get bored and dont want to stop reading.
Alison S, United Kingdom
